Upcoming Horror Games in 2017
Horror games are again trendy thanks to some new technologies, but to us it is an opportunity to see a direct clash of old and new school of intimidation. A good part of these adventures had chosen a first-person perspective for recreating a threat, but there will also be those used different techniques. We can't make a top list of this games since we need to try them all first, but here are a list of upcoming horror games in 2017:

1. Resident Evil 7

Play format in this game is very close to the original Resident Evil released in 1996. You exploring a big house, solving a puzzles and carefuly pick through your inventory. Puzzles are not so complicated to solve, but challenging. You have a reminder of what you current job is and that's all - there is no indication where to go and which way, nor any lighted object that you need to pick up. Even the tutorial is very superficial so you learn only the basic things while other tricks you will learn by experimenting or trail and error method. Punishing players is mitigated compared to previous games in the series. For example, if you die you will not go back to the last manually saved game but to a nearby checkpoint.

2. What Remains Of Edith Finch

This is a supernatural adventure developed by Giant Sparrow team(The Unfinished Swan),that this year should arrive exclusively on PlayStation 4.
It is a realization that will adorn the top atmosphere and intriguing story, inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe, H. P. Lovecraft, Borges and Rod Sterling "Twilight Zone".

What Remains of Edith Finch will present a collection of short stories about the haunted family in Washington state. Each story will offer a unique experience to players and throw them into the role of different family members, ranging from those who lived during the early 1900's until today. Gameplay and tone of each story will be completely different ,just like the members of the cursed family, and the only constant in this game will be the first person view and the inevitable death of every member of the cursed family. Players will assume the role of Edith Finch, who will investigate incidents that have befallen her family and will try to find out what's really going on and why she was the only member of the family Finch who is still alive.

3. Outlast

The original Outlast was honored by having different kind of fears in gameplay. Better said, he took most of the tricks from a horror genre and put them into one set so we wondered what his sequel could deliver to overcome it. Based on the previous material, we assumed we would try to scare us in more open spaces, and we were right.

Namely, the first shots of the gameplay from Outland 2 came from the PAX East fair and they did not disappoint us. We learned how to play with a character who literally made a wrong turn in some village who knows where, which is already different from the story in the first part where the main character knew where he was going and where he was. Furthermore, we have learned that the game will have new methods of hiding - in barrels and even in the water. The whole atmosphere reminded us of the horror series of Children Of The Corn, which is a good thing because we don't testify that atmosphere often.

Here is a walkthrough video of Outlast 2 PC version:

After all I have to admit that this could be the most horrible horror game of recent times. It turns out that the Red Barrels studio learned a lot from the previous game and tried to perfect its craft with it. Looks like they are on a good track and if he can stay on the whole game it would be great.
